    Default Clearcoating Aluminun?

Early CB750's came from factory clearcoted w/ lacquer on the aluminun engine covers (ie: valve cover, alternator, etc) that always corrodes. I want to replicate the factory look which has a satin-like finish (I do not want it over-restored brightly polished). Anybody have experiance with clear powdercoating aluminun? How is aluminun prepped for this?

I think that the coating was called "Nylatic" (spelled wrong)..but more like a heat proof thick Varathane® they use for wood products, but "Nylatic' was described as an OEM coating for motor crankcases. Eastwood used to sell it by the can. I don't see it in their catalog now, but call them 1-800-345-1178 and ask. http://www.eastwoodcompany.com/
