Thread: Rajah buddy seat (child's?)

  1. #1

    Default Rajah buddy seat

Can anyone shed any light on these seats? Is this a JD era accessory? Is it a child's seat? It seems to mount in front of the rider's seat and be hinged to flip up.

    On the underside it says:

The rider sat on it and the passenger sat on his seat.

Wow, I hadn't thought of it that way. That's quite a comfort sacrifice just to be able to carry a passenger.
    Thanks, Peter

My friend has one of them on his 34 VL. He carries his grand-daughter on it (5 yrs. old). It's only about 6 or 7 in. wide at the widest so I'm not sure it would even fit an adult. Certainly not my aging butt. It would also make turning the handlebars next to impossible were an adult to occupy it.It's a nice item and she loves the heck out of it! Smitty

the multi jeweled thing-a-ma-jig is a period accessory in lieu of the factory ammeter/speedo light. that bike (not mine) has a side car attached to it and is bedecked with every possible factory and non-factory accessory.

fwiw, one of those Rajah seats sold a couple months ago on ebay for $735.....

    Tanks Steve,
I'll have to look over some old Buco & Nation-Bilt Catalogs and find that animal!
Those jewels must be one helluva sight at night-time!

They also sold those jeweled accessory dash lights for cars and I would bet there are many that would interchange. I wonder if some were not being re popped a few years back. I would check some Model T Ford catalogs and websites. Who Knows?
