As I said before, It is simply the wire stripped, bent to shape, and dipped in solder. I have seen early wires that has a piece of tube soldered over the wire and bent to shape.

I have a nos HT lead and the bag it came in from the factory.
The part number is no longer totally visible but it does finish with either -15 or -18.
I've only ever seen very few HT leads with a end like the one Chris posted but I've seen plenty with this style of end.
All I can say is mine came from Jones Brothers, the HD importer at the time, when they were clearing their Wellington warehouse and consolidating in Christchurch in the 1950's.
Dad bought home tons of nos parts that were destined to be dumped in a land reclamation.
I'm not going to say what style of end is right or wrong as there could be so many variables at the time but my one is Genuine nos Harley-Davidson so they must have used it on something don't you think.

Thanks Tommo! i imagine the factory probably didn't sell the terminal end separate for the wire, i do't see it listed in the parts book.

    Default Plug Wire Ends

The Motor Co. did sell the spark plug wire ends. I got these 1927 and later ends at an auction in 1985. They came in some drawers full of early electrical parts.

Craig, thank you for your wonderful post. i am looking now in my 22-27 and 27-31 parts book and there those two terminal types are in the 22-27 book and 1598-27 is in the 27-31 book! (fwiw, i couldn't get my eye on 'em!) the 1598-12 is for 1912-1926 and the 1598-27 is for 1927-at least 1931. Would you be willing to part with a few or at least 2 of the 1598-27 terminal tubes?
