    would there be a photo around, showing the differance in fins and castings between the 1928 and 1929 clys? thanks gw

    Default 1928-1929 JD Cylinders

    Here's a link on the JD Yahoo group that shows a 1929 74" cylinder.

    The 1928 also has rounded corners on the base flange and a metric spark plug hole.
    Note on the top view of the 1929 cylinder how about half of the fins on the top run for to aft ALL the way from the front of the cylinder to the rear. the 1928 cylinder would have fore to aft fins but they only run half the width of the cylinder (from the center to the outside)
    Also note how the vertical fins around the valve pocket taper inward as they move up. The 1928 fins in this area are straight up and down.
