1980 Honda Gold Wing Interstate?

Not quite 35 years old, but a friend came across one of these recently in very nice shape. He'es trying to decide whether it's worth acquiring as a collector bike and whether there is an enthusiast community. He has always wanted a 'vintage' bike but the big American Iron is beyond his means.

It has 70K miles, but is all original and in superb condition. Wondering if anyone from the vintage Metric Bike community has any advice I can pass along?
