Carburetion adjustments are made at operating temperature. Why would we expect optimum performance when cold?

I also had one of those 2000 ign in my 36 and it did the same thing, I called Ed and he let me return it, he is a very nice guy. Once I went back to points she runs fine, thanks, Larry

Well, I took out my bike again today, it ran better than a fine watch, it did not skip a beat, no sputtering or even one hiccup. I logged over 200 Miles today, climbing mountain roads, winding turns, long HWY-speed stretches, everything I could throw at it. Grinning all the way. WOW It was even raining half the day and it just did not matter, she purrs.

Yesterday I reset the eBeyond2000 and moved it closer to the pickup, (tight to the paper gap), I also re-adjusted the carb and, low and behold no grief whatsoever. It is definitely dialed it perfect now. 1 kick every time.

What beautiful machines these are, it brought back memories of traveling across the US in the early 80's, odd that my StreeGlide does not give me the same memories, . . actually I can't believe I don't even give that bike much attention, probably should not have insure it this year for all the riding its going to get. grin

Sounds like you got it dialed in, I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth on the E Beyond 2000 ignitions. I got tired of buying those over priced JUNK aftermarket Knucklehead points for my '35 VL and bought and installed the E2000. I did have to adjust it slightly after the first ride but it hasn't missed a beat since. After priming the bike starts the second kick when cold and the first kick after that every time. Those who know me, know that I like all my stuff original but I'm sold on the E2000 ignitions......is the one out yet for the Indian Chiefs???
