Cad plating is not brain surgery. Google Cad plating and the name of your city to find a shop near you.

That being said Chris there are different finishes/appearances of different platers. My buddy on the mainland wasn't to happy about the appearance of the stuff he was getting done and asked me about the plating I get done, so I brought him a piece to look at the next time I went over. He quit using the plater he used on the mainland and now uses the plater here on the island for his restorations because of the better appearance.

The cad you get today is not like the old stuff. The new stuff has brighteners in it. According to my two cad platters that is all they can get now from their suppliers. On another note: Both of them have told me that cad platting has got about a year to go before the EPA pulls the plug. The only reason cad is still in play is because the military uses it. So if you're doing a resto. Get everything you need platted Chop! Chop! Chrome has got five years on the outside. Platters are going to start drying up at an alarming rate. Bob L

If that happens, I'll bet there would be a good business opportunity to set up plating on the Mexico-American border.

    D&D Classic Brightworks in Ohio.

Not cheap, but their work is utterly superb. They do Cad 1 and Cad 2 as well as Watts Nickel, Bright Nickel and Chrome.

They are the best I have ever seen. But, again, not cheap.

    Cheers,

    Sirhr

I've got a 58XLH 100 point bike and I would recomend Areo Propeller in denver CO for CAD Plating.
