Relay lid fonts

Let me ask a dumb question here. Did the two post relay 39 and down have Delco-Remy on the lid and if so was it the same fonts as the later three post. Thanks, Bob L

In looking at factory photos I can see Delco-Remy on 1934's and 1936's. Other years are not visible. So with that in mind I would say they all say Delco-Remy on them.

Hello i do have some with out delco on them.But they are a early replacement ones not delco.

Bob- I have learned that my 26 JD should only say "Delco" without the Remy. Per Lippolt. More to learn..........

The only way I have found to identify HD cut-outs is that they have a smaller dia bobbin than other Delco ones.
A HD lid will not fit over the bobbin on other Delco cut-outs
I don't know for sure if this is a given but until now its been the only way I have been able to identify one from another.
All the lids in the attached photo will not fit on a large bobbin cut-out. I have these four variations but do not have any with just Delco on them.
Its a good question you have asked and I hope I can learn from it.

There is a rumour that the capital letters for Delco Remy were used 1926-32 and the script lettering thereafter. Can anyone substantiate this?

Does anyone have an idea as to when Delco appeared on the scene? I'm assuming that one company bought the other?
