frame date code ??

have my tanks off my '65 ,frame # near motor mount is 4 G . guessing this is july '64 . assuming this would be a early '65 ? what did the vin numbers start at ?

Mine is 4-H, the actual build date is August 11 of 1964. It is #1655.

Numbers started at 1000 or 1001 in different years.
