Default Finish details on star hub

This may have been covered before but I can't find it if it has. Rebuilding hubs for a 1950 Pan, need to know the correct finish for the star and star screws. I assume parkerized for the star, but I've seen the screws parkerized and sometimes cad.
    Thanks, Doug.

    1950 screws are Parkerized.

    Thanks Chris.
A minor thing, but I just couldn't seem to find the answer, or a good pic anywhere.

What about the star plate under the cover? They all seem to be bare metal. Should you spray the edges black to keep rust from forming? What's normal/aceptable?

I parkerize all of it. The two stars, screws, tooth washers and the cap on the other end. Job is done! Bob L

    Default Screws

I could've sworn Palmer says cad on the screws. And I know I've been told cad over on the hydraglide site. I guess I need to revisit this. Was there possibly an early and late thing here. Seems that there are conflicting beliefs on these star screws and the case stud nuts on a 1950. Just when I think I've got it figured out... ???

Here is what the factory photo of a production model 1950 shows.

    Chris!

Would you guess that the star cover is painted over parkerizing?

Parkerized parts often did not match, but the photo's is darker than I encounter.

It is definitely painted. Whether is is Parkerized or not I can't tell. I have found many that were only painted and many that were paint over Parkerized.
