    Hey Louie

I didn't have any friction plates made for my Sport. I'm hoping they will hold. They appeared to be ok.. We shall see! Let me know if you do decide to make some up. I could use some spares!

    Hey Mark

Max ground the mains down to clean them up then made new custom mains and big end bearings. She's smooth! Check out those wrist pins bushings! Beauty!

Oh and he had to re-heat treat the whole mess too. I've got his invoice at the museum. I'll tell you what all he did to it next week.

I'd be interested to know exactly what Max did to the crank. I have two sport cranks that will need similar work. I'd also like some contact info for him.
    Thanks

    Hey Mark

I'll look at the invoice tonight. It was fairly extensive. I'll let you know this evening.

    Default new plates

    Hi Louie,
I have just rebuilt my engine and clutch with the new corks and this is indeed a lot of work.
I do not know how it wil work because Ineed a few weeks to finish my bike and waiting for good weather to test drive.
However I have made a DXF or computer drawing of the clutchplates.
I can send you the file so you can upload the shape into a cutting machine to have some plates cut.

    Default sport clutch discs

It had about three sheets of newspaper for had gaskets, you could still read the words on the paper.
One problem that all Sport owners seem to have is with the clutch, I have been meaning to redesign the plates by having most of them bonded with material and therefore getting rid of them damn 132 discs. I was just wondering if you have given any thought to the clutch yet? I would be interested in some new discs if you are going to get some made up. Thanks.
    Hello Louie,
Maybe the clutch problem is solved, if not here could be one solution.
When I recently disassembled my engine I noted that my father had replaced (in the 1970ies)the clutch discs with custom made discs, made from Surflex wet clutch discs. They have worked very well. I am researching to try and see if I can find some more/new discs to do new ones by laser or watercutting the correct profile.

It was purchased from Pohlman Studios when the H-D photo archives were there.
