Heip with my BOUNCEY springer front end !!!

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if the problem got solved? I have the exact same problem with my 42 WLA. I'm trying to figure out if it is the Springer, the wheel, or the tire. Thanks so much, Eric

The bounce was a common problem on some early bigtwins from the geometry of the rake. They had to heat up the neck and bend it out a bit to stop the wobble and bounce at speed. You may be experiencing the same thing. Check your frame neck for rake if all else fails. It ay have been in a slight collision that bent the neck that’s not visible from the eye.

PS: What little memory I have thinks Herbert Wagner's revolutionary "Revolutionary Motorcycles..." described the 'field' adjustment performed cold, by gently depressing the spine of the frame, like with a sledge or something.
But I can't remember where my copy went.
