45 inner primary mount

have a buddy working on a 45 . this case is only used as a reference ,not the case in question. on his case there are two bosses where the yellow dots are marked on pic that are drilled and tapped . the two inner primary mounting bosses with inserts are there on his case just not drilled and tapped for inserts . the question than is what are the drilled bosses where the yellow dots are in pic for and what year ,type of inner primary is used on his case ? i thought all 45's had the mounting inserts like in below pic

The electric start Servi-car cases have two bosses in that location where the primary chain adjuster mounts. The inner primary mounts to the rear bosses as earlier but if I recall correctly is not countersunk.
