    Default Linkert m 741-1 vs m-18

A couple of years ago I purchased a 1949 Harley WL. After researching why the carb choke didn't work as it should (position wise) I learned it was a linkert m 741-1 off an Indian. My question is what will I gain if swap to the correct m-18 carb? I really don't know much about these carbs yet. Thanks for any help.

    49WL!

    According to Palmer's,
the M-18 is correct for the W, not the WL.
(The WL used an M-52, with a WL manifold as well.)

You can always install an H-D style choke assembly on the M741.

Cotten; Thank you for the correction to the M-52 carb. I have a lot to learn about this machine yet.
