    Thanks for the link.

"With the discissions of the Judging Committee in hand, they were then
carried into the AMCA Board Meeting, who has ultimate say on the matters. 9
out of 10 Committee recommendations were passed"

So what where the 9 recommendations, anybody know?

Default 9 outta 10 judging items

    Hi Joe & All,
I was the recording secretary of the Judging Committee (I don't know how Trudi does it!). Things got complicated at times, but what the Judging Committee came up with is essentially to form a separate class for NON-factory racers (as these bikes aren't as they came from the factory; which is pretty much our criteria). Factory racers, of course, will be judged like any other machine. The non-factory jobs will have guidelines like having to be outfitted as raced with in a 5 year span of their era (no modern stuff). There is a special committee formed to whittle out the details on this. They will still be judged by our National System, and not by the hosting chapter like the period modifieds.
Another issue that got voted on, but rejected by the Judging Committee was my suggestion for a defined starting area, where each and every restored machine had to be started, brought to an idle, and made to perform it's every function; horn works, lights work, turn signals, etc...... This was defeated by the committee.
Another defeat was mandatory Pre-Registration. It will remain as it is now, with pre-reg incuraged, and last minute reg at an additional cost.
We passed a 6pt ding for repro frames
We passed a 6pt ding for repro top ends on engines
We passed a Disqualification for repro cases
And we passed that numbers should be good. This is where the confusion really reared it's ugly head. For Bogus numbers, there was selection of penalties. One selection was to "grade" them, another was to disqualify. In actuallity, the "grading" of the numbers passed via the Committee.
It was this item that got shot down by the Board however. The Board voted to adopt all the Committees recommendations, exept this penalty. They moved that bad numbers result in a DQ.
Please realize that this is NOT an official press release. I was there, and letting you know the jist of the judging changes. Change is always hard. We vintage guys are generally creatures of habit. But hopefully these changes help preserve our machines of passion.
    Respectfully submitted, RF.

I read the link in regards to the judging discussion. I was apalled at our president Rocky Halter's response to Red Fred "Take this soap story to the AMCA website, lets not clog up the VI with mindless drivel and polished turds?"

I think we all need to thank kevin for the fine job he has done for us. (Even though he doesn't know anything about Harleys. )
