Thread: RL/VL Tanks

    Default RL/VL Tanks

Besides the slot cut out for the seat bracket, what is the difference if any between the '32-'36 VL and RL tanks?

Resoldered mine, sealed, painted, and now a leak. It's ruining the paint, and I've tried twice now to fix this tank.

I'm in the market for a reproduction. But all I can find are VL tanks.

The VL tank is about 1 inch longer. And the gas outlets are in a different position.

On this subject, can anyone recommend an expert in soldered tank restoration?

I take mine to the local radiator shop. They solder stuff all day long.
