I have found at least four different variations of the 1935-1939 wheel lugs.

man the info is great ... from the 65 pan book thread ,'48 rear fender thread ,early seat info.....ect . Chris how 'bout some more info on wheel lug bolts ,pics or just some more details on the 37-39 stuff
The four basic '35-'39 lugs I have seen are as follows.
(1) '35/'36 safety wire hole. Although there is no record of them ever being safety wired. (2) No safety wire hole.
(3) Grove around the top. No hole. Standard thread.
(4) Grove around the bottom. No hole. Standard thread.
Here is a photo of the only two I have handy.

Chris ... you're a maniac with the pics ... truly worth a thousand words. I have never seen the groove around the bottom version.

I never noticed the groove either Chris. I have a bunch of oem lugs. I better check em all. Some are cad and some are parkerized. Were all grooved lugs parkerized ? Paps
Sorry the photos arent clear enough to see a grove on the '38/'39's.
1935/36. Cadmium plated.
1937. Cadmium plated.
1938 Parkerized.
1939 Parkerized.

Chris,
Would you post a photo of a 45FL, before the service ends? I need plenty of help on my project. Thanks...
