That ad was just for publicity was it? Interesting. Dick are you going to have your findings in print at some point? It would be a great read!

    Cory,
I was at Jeffs shop 2 week ends ago,to look at racer seats and do a quality comparison between the several board tracker seats he has, before I decide who to buy from.
2 of his bikes are at Vegas,He stated that they will be saved for the last day of auction

Ken, when you mentioned a second bike I decided to do a search. I see that he is/was selling his Lake as well. He did a great job on that one!

Cory, HD wasn't the only maker trying to pull a fast one back in the day. There is so much
    we don't know.

Ken, I received a email from Jeff this morning and he said he brought both bikes back home with him. No sales!

From Mid-America.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_MGe5KA_go Do you think the Lake is somewhat misrepresented on the description? It leaves one to wonder.

Isn't the "Lake" motorcycle Jeff's own creation? That is, there was not a Lake motorcycle in the early days so far as I know. None existed until now.

But a wonderful looking job to be sure!

I see the 2010 results are up now...... here's a link to Jeff's bike..... http://www.midamericaauctions.com/sh...ehicleID=18369 by the looks of things it didn't sell.
Notice how it states "famous" Waverley motor. How had it become famous this quickly and where did they get the name Waverley to begin with??? Did it have some earlier history we don't know about????

    That stuff bugs me...

Herb, I believe that the Lake was Jeff's own creation. I agree that he did do a really good job on his version of "what could have been".
