Cotton: Thank you for your prompt reply. From the pic there, it appears you are using a little three legged table, kinda like an ashtray stand that rests on the air valve leather/washer. All you do then is add weights on top of this table untill the air valve just "cracks" open and no more. Please correct me if I'm in left field...thank again, Joe

I have four legs on my pedestal.
A "perfect" adjustment allows the pre-loaded pedestal to bounce as if weightless, but still closes completely. The clear tube for a stand makes the gap quite visible.
