i have a 32e gen. and all the internals look great, but it is an oily greasy mess inside, does anyone know the proper way to degrease the windings?? thanks chris

I have had good luck with the spray-on (in a can) brake cleaner - same as electrical contact cleaner now sold, but at 1/2 the price. Be careful, it comes out fast and will blow the crud all over you if you are not careful how you aim it.

Hello Scott , I've always found the best way is to take apart (label or make note where the conections go) except the field windings and clean with carb cleaner , (an aerosol spray cleaner , you must be able to get it over there ??) clean all up with that and reassemble , the 32e's do get a bit oily in long service , best of luck , Ken
thanks guys for the info,
