    Default 36EL Rims

Is the rim in the photo a 36el rim or a 45 rim??
Palmers book has a photo that looks the same as this rim but the man that sold it said it was a 45 rim.
    Any help would be appreciated!!

It is a Big Twin wheel, an 18". VL's (19") and 45's are opposite on the spoke holes in relation to the valve stem hole.

Before the reply I was looking in the Knucklehead Restorer's
Guide by Greg Field. On page 39 Dave Bank's unrestored 36 is the oposite of the one I bought but the restored bike on the cover is the same as my wheel---what is correct??
    Trying to get it right.

    Steve,
Hold the rim in your hands with the valve stem hole facing your feet, look on the rolled over edge, if it is a big twin rim, it will have one hole drilled in each bead, if it is a 45 rim it will have one hole in one bead and two holes in the other.
