Mike,
I have just gone through this with a 73 FLH.
It had a end oiler pinion but still had the side oiler cam cover. The oil passages are different in the cam cover. This would lose oil pressure...
The engine breaths into the primary chaincase, so it should be the same oil as the engine.
You should have an engine oil with high ZZP percentage as these motors use flat tappets.
Your welcome,
As with most things, they are easy when you know how.
I spent time inventing electrochemical processes. One of the best things about inventing is that nobody can tell you that you...
The kickstarter is held in by a nut inside the kicker cover.
The transmission does not need to be removed to replace the spring.
To remove it, you need to first remove the clutch pull rod....
I have ridden and driven most of that route more than a few times, and I agree with you. Take water.
The furthermost fuel stops are about 220 km, (140 m) but expect it to cost 4-5 times what it is...
Steve,
Where did you get the rocker towers?
Cheers
I have not put them on a shovel, but I have on plenty of evo's.
I have always found S&S products to be top quality.
I must agree that any oil on a belt will damage it.
I currently have a bitsa shovel head on my bench. it has been puking oil everywhere, including into the semi enclosed primary belt. The main...
When you start pulling these bikes apart, you will find all the screws will be very difficult to undo.
The phillips heads on these screws are very soft, and can be stripped by hand.

Robbie,
Could you possibly measure the width of the check strap.
I need to make some for my package truck. I know the front strap is double width, is that the same for the rear straps?
Thank you....
NC Rider,
In your first photo, it looks like the high gear is not pushed onto the main shaft enough.
There looks to be a step on the mainshaft that should meet up with a face inside the high gear....
I am far from a carby expert, but that body looks like it could have a bowl that doesn't have a threaded plug above the float needle.
The flat machined surface on the bottom of the body and what...
I agree with Rubone.

RAL is a color code format.
Cotton,
Have you done any tests on Ethanol free fuel?
Do you have RAL color codes for that bulls eye?
Thanks gents, I had uploaded it to facebook, and I like the email trick.

I am after a set of MW package truck body support rods. Pt no's 6376-27 & 6372-27 that i would like to trade for a set of M support rods.
Pt no's 6371-25 & 6375-25.
The M series rods are narrower...
At least I only have to pay tax once for the first rego.
No state sales tax is an ongoing benefit.
Not long ago I paid $1000 tax to register a 1989 FLT I had just finished building. I think I valued that at about $10K to register it.
The bond for that one was $250, on a $12000 value.
The JD is...
Nevada DMV want 150% of the MRSP to issue a bonded title.
When it comes time to register it, I will have to pay tax as i haven't paid tax in any state.
I don't know what this amount will be. I...
Bob,
That looks like exactly what I need.
I purchased this book and will scan the page I need. It should be clear enough for the DMV to understand.
Cheers
Steve,
I have been through the library and found everything except exactly what I need.
The 29 JD price is for a police model with a "single unit lighting"
Probably close enough.
Thanks
Thanks Rubone.
If I don't have the correct year, the DMV will probably be more confused. They have already valued my 29 JD to cost more than my 1989 FLT.
If i cannot find the correct year, I will...
