recheck valve/cam timing
I had a seized follower roller once, with cam-lobe wear tracks. Back-firing through the carb, wouldn't accelerate. Finally checked cam gallery, fixed it.

Doe's it roll ok? Not no brakes grabbing or anything like that is it? How about with the machine up on the rear stand, put it in gear and see how it does - doe's it bog down ? Doe's the trans turn easy? Have seen a Chief seize a shaft in the trans once, just guessing - good luck.
