Afternoon Guys and Gals!

Hope everyone had a nice Tuesday. We had some fun at the Museum today. Chuck Huneycutt finished his latest project, one that I think you will enjoy looking at. This is a super rare machine! In fact we believe there is only one! Its a 1959 Zimmerman. As the plackard reads, the machine was built by Emil Zimmerman. What is so odd about this bike, is its engine. Look closely at the heads of the motor. The engine has what are called rotary sleeves, instead of the much more conventional tappet style intake and exhaust valves. No springs, no keepers, no cams! Its amazing!! We're very proud of it and hope some of you can come down and have a look. Its now on display on our 2nd floor as you walk into the Museum. Awesome work Chuck! Hope everyone enjoys the new photos.

I've seen Cannonball Baker's rotary valve bike at Wheels Through Time but didn't know about Kawasaki and Rotax's engines. I wonder who's was the first?
