Meet the new editors of The Antique MotorcycleLet me introduce myself. I'm Greg Harrison, and in a previous life I was Vice President of Communications for the American Motorcyclist Association. I worked there for nearly 29 years, heading up the team of people producing American Motorcyclist magazine. Recently, I was contacted by board members of the AMCA and asked if I would be interested in the role of editor at The Antique Motorcycle following the resignation of Rick Schunk. Rather than accepting on my own, I worked with two colleagues from my AMA days to put together a proposal that would bring additional resources to this magazine. Those two are Bill Wood, a 25-year veteran as editor of American Motorcyclist who now works as a freelance magazine editor, and Denny Thrush, the former senior art director for the AMA who has his own business as a graphics artist. As you would expect from our backgrounds, we're all lifelong motorcyclists, and while we also own newer motorcycles, we're big fans of old bikes. Bill has an antique BMW he's used for everything from touring to vintage road-racing, Denny campaigns a Penton in off-road competition, and I had a longtime love affair with a Norton Commando that ended recently. But enough about us. Let's talk about you. We have "inherited" a fine magazine from Rick, and we understand the challenge of continuing the excellence he has created. To do that, we'll need your help with each and every issue. Fortunately, judging by what we've seen in recent issues, there are some great writers, photographers and storytellers out there who we can count on. The Antique Motorcycle is your magazine, and we'd like to work with you in keeping it the magazine you want it to be. So I'm asking you to send your stories (and your story ideas) to us at amcaeditor@gmail.com. If you need to send stuff by regular mail, give me (Greg) a call at (740) 803-2584. Speaking for the three of us, we look forward to working with all AMCA members to make sure The Antique Motorcycle remains the finest magazine devoted to old bikes.
