“Loaned” by Shorty Tomkins

Shorty's Cyclone is a 1914, and is a board track racer, as most were. There are 9 known Cyclones, and only two of them are street machines, and one of them, owned by Bud Ekins, was made up from a boardtracker, using the one original road bike as a pattern. The board track Cyclones were unbeatable at the time, much to the embarrasment of the three big players, Indian, Excelsior, and Harley Davidson. Shorty's bike is an amalgamation of Indian “loop” frame, Cyclone engine, and Merkel forks, as was typical of the time.
